MICRONEEDLING

Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure used to treat skin conditions by pricking the skin with tiny sterilized needles. It’s different from traditional injectables or laser treatments because it requires no downtime and doesn’t require anesthesia. Microneedling works by stimulating collagen production, which results in smoother skin that appears younger and more vibrant.

The procedure can be used on any part of your body, but it’s most commonly used to treat acne scars and wrinkles, reduce discoloration (like age spots), tighten pores, and improve the appearance of acne scars.

Microneedling is more popular among women because it can reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scars, as well as reduce the appearance of cellulite. It also helps to smooth out wrinkles, reduce pore size, and improve skin tone.

Preparing for Microneedling

To prep for a microneedling session, you need to:

  • Make sure you’re clean and free from any makeup or lotions that could irritate your skin.
  • Wash your face with warm water and an antibacterial soap (like Dove) for at least 20 minutes before your session. This will help remove any dirt and germs that may be on your face. You can also use a gentle exfoliating scrub if you like!
  • If you have sensitive skin, you should try to avoid products with fragrance, because those can make your skin more reactive. Instead, try using products that are unscented or have only a light scent. And if you’re using an anti-acne cream, make sure it’s one that won’t cause irritation in the area where the needles will be used—it’s possible to get an allergic reaction during microneedling treatments!
  • If you’re going to be getting any other treatments done at the same time as this one (like Botox!) make sure they don’t overlap too much.
